Lucyphine Kilanga is a seasoned gender and development expert with over eight years of experience, currently serving as the Policy, Advocacy, and Research Officer at Women in Nature Network Tanzania (WiN-TZ). In her role, she leads efforts to ensure that gender perspectives are meaningfully integrated into conservation initiatives and natural resource governance.

Her work is rooted in the fisheries sector, where she champions gender-responsive approaches in environmental conservation and sustainable fisheries management. Lucyphine has extensive experience in conducting gender analysis, designing inclusive policies, and leading capacity-building programs that empower women across the fisheries value chain. She focuses on addressing key challenges in the sector—ranging from promoting biodiversity conservation and sustainable fishing practices to understanding the socio-economic dynamics influencing both ecosystems and livelihoods

Lucyphine has collaborated with a wide range of stakeholders, including local communities, government agencies, and international organizations such as the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), OAK Foundation, and WorldFish. Her leadership continues to drive inclusive and transformative change in Tanzania’s aquatic resource management, reinforcing the crucial role of women in shaping a sustainable and equitable blue economy.
