About Us
Women in Nature Tanzania (WiN-TZ) was founded in 2023 by a group of committed women conservationists and became a legally registered non-governmental organization in November 2024 under the NGO Act No. 24 of 2002 of the United Republic of Tanzania. WiN-TZ is dedicated to empowering women and youth as key drivers of environmental sustainability, recognizing their leadership, research contributions, and community engagement as essential to shaping the future of conservation in Tanzania and beyond. The organization is committed to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), and SDG 15 (Life on Land). Through leadership development, capacity building, inclusive environmental policy advocacy, and community-led nature-based solutions, WiN-TZ works to strengthen the role of women and youth in the sustainable management of Tanzania’s diverse ecosystems.

We believe every woman has the power to embrace her true self, shape her own future, and make a lasting impact on the world.
